SN74LVC14A: Vcc=5V (Figure4)

Part Number: SN74LVC14A

Hi,

Datasheet of SN74LVC14A Figure4 shows "Vcc=5v" written in the device power supply.
I think that it is 3.6 V (max) by specification.

Can you guarantee(Electrical specifications) Vcc=5 as a manufacturer?

best regards

  • The MSP43x does not allow 5 V either. So this is obviously an error in figure 4.

(Only single-gate LVC devices support 5 V; as you have noted, for the hex inverter, 5 V is neither specified nor guaranteed.)
  • Hi cafain,

There is definitely an error in Figure 4 on that datasheet, however you can apply 5V to the supply of this device.

Note that the Absolute Maximum Ratings table lists the supply voltage from -0.5 V (minimum) up to 6.5 V (maximum). It is important to note that you would be operating the device outside of our recommended supply range (2 V min, 3.6 V max), and as such, we will not guarantee any of the specs on the datasheet to hold up at that supply rating.
  • Hi

    With detailed explanation, I understood.
Since device DC characteristics are necessary, consider using LVC1G14.

    best regards
