eMMC line driver supporting 200MHz

Hi Team,

My customer are surveying the solution to drive the 200MHz eMMC protocol of Toshiba THGBMBG5D1KBAIL because the signal can not meet the specification due to long cable line ( 30cm).

Any recommendation for either buffer solution or signal conversion for eMMC protocol will be helpful to solve the problem.

What TI device is being used? Processor?

Hi Walker,

Customer are using the timing controller for OLED TV which is designed as customized, not TI processor.

What’s the trace length we’re dealing with? Is there also a cable involved?

Hi Eric,

For starters, the SN74AUC125 is a 250MHz buffer, so this would be a possibility if all they need is a driver: www.ti.com/product/SN74AUC125 . Selection will also depend on power supplies available and the signal drive levels the required.

I'm also seeing on the AM437x GPEVM, a TXS0108E (U25) is used to buffer eMMC data, and SN74AVC8T245 (U23) for the NAND Memory interface (bidirectional): http://processors.wiki.ti.com/images/9/95/Am437x_gp_evm_3k0006_schematic_rev1_4a.pdf .

As well, this AM437x EVM has eMMC Memory on-board, also uses the TXS0108E (U57) as a bidirectional buffer: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/images/6/67/Am437x_gp_evm_3k0006_schematic_rev1_2a.pdf .

Let me know if either of these look promising for this design.
