TX517EVM: Use this EVM as a Sonar System Transmitter

Dear Friends,

I would like to use TX517EVM as our Transmitter and I have the following two questions:

  • Is it possible to configure this EVM over an SPI connection? For example, using an SPI connection to set the register values.
  • I saw in the document (Table 4. of slou317b) that the frequency generated by pushing the FREQ_BUTTON starts from 10Mhz up to 100Mhz. As you might know, in Sonar systems, we use a frequency in range of 200 Khz up to 800 KHz. Does this device generate a frequency for sonar application?

    Hi Sajad,

    The TX517EVM cannot be configured via SPI. It is setup to be configured using its high impedance INPx, INNx inputs (~2.5V - 3.3V logic).
    The device can generate as low a frequency as you need. The frequency specification of 1-100MSPS in the datasheet (Page 7) only talk about the device's refresh rate.
