SN74LV1T34: SN74LV1T34

Part Number: SN74LV1T34
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G34

Hi, I'm looking to use a level shifter (5V to 1.8V), but I'm finding it's not very common, at least from my search.

I'm using an RS232 DRVR/RCVR that interfaces with a device that using 1.8V logic.  Can someone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hi Brian,
If you are converting a unidirectional signal from 5V to 1.8V, then any over-voltage tolerant buffer will handle the job. One example is the SN74LVC1G34. With the supply set to 1.8V, the input can be driven up to 6.5V without damaging the device, and the output will maintain at 1.8V.
