Hello,

we have space constraints in the application and are considering BGA package variant.

Which would be the BGA package variant with the highest production volumes, respectively the longest product life cycle?

hi Martin ,

TI guarantees highest quality on all the packages and i cannot point out any specific to you on the package which has longest product life cycle. The choices to the customer would be the smallest form factor which fits their applications.

Hello!

I think one should prefer the 56-Pin BGA package.
If the SN74ALVC164245 is obsolete one can use the SN74LVCH16T245 as second source?
The SN74LVCH16T245 is only available in 56-Pin BGA package.

What do you think about it?

I do not see the ALVC164245 being obsolete in our website. The LVCH and ALVC are from different technology family and could potentially be used to replace each other depending on the specific operating condition requirements.

I didn't say, that the ALVC164245 is obsolete. I only tried to say:"In the case of obsolecense one can use the SN74LVCH16T245 as second source!"
Therefore, in my oppinion, there is a little advantage when using the 56-pin BGA.
