TXB0108: Open Drain Question

Hello TI People,

I would like to use this part for I2C Signals, will this work for that?

Hey Angela,

Unfortunately, the TXB family of parts does not work with open drain devices. I suggest that if you'd like to use open drain signals, such as I2C, then you use the TXS or LSF family of parts. The TXS and TXB devices are quite similar so it shouldn't be a huge change for you luckily.

Okay, thanks! Was this mentioned in the datasheet somewhere and I just missed it?

Yes, it is mentioned in section 8.3.5, it can be easy to miss; you can always ctrl f "I2C to find it too:
