SN74AUP1G57: what's the difference between 1t and 1g devices

Part Number: SN74AUP1G57
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUP1T57,

What's the difference between 1t and 1g parts? For the AUP1t57 & AUP1g57 specifically, the datasheets have different dates but also have pretty much the same information.

  • The SN74AUP1T57 is a translation device, specifically rated and intended for up and down translation applications. The SN74AUP1G57 is a standard CMOS configurable logic gate.

One major difference I notice immediately upon opening the two datasheets is that the SN74AUP1T57 is rated to operate from 2.3V to 3.6V, and the SN74AUP1G57 is rated from 0.8V to 3.6V. (in Recommended Operating Conditions)

You should also note that the input threshold values in the Electrical Characteristics table are quite different.

There are other differences, however these are a couple of the primary ones I noticed immediately.
