TXS0102-Q1: The maximum propagation delay

Part Number: TXS0102-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC2G34, SN74AUC2G34, SN74LVC2G125-Q1

Hi team,

I'm looking for a level shifter that can be used uni-direction rfrom 3.3V to 1.8V.

It is assumed that the data rate will be  less than several tens of MHz.

I would like propagation delay to be less than 10nsec at worst.

I think that TXS0102-Q1 is one of the candidates, but the maximum propagation delay written in the data sheet is only free-air conditions.

Is there maximum propagation delay all temperature range?

Although this device has the function of One-Shot Edge Accelerators, is there a possibility that the delay varies with this level shifter compared with the normal level shifter?

We are also considering calibrating, but it is unlikely to vary under the same conditions.

Please tell me if there is another recommended device with a small propagation delay.

Best regards,

Tomoaki Yoshida

  • Hi Yoshida-san,
Is automotive qualification an absolute requirement for your application?

The SN74LVC2G34 would work perfectly for your application (assuming you need 2 channels). The propagation delay has a maximum of 9.6 ns over the range of -40C to 125C (@30 pF load), and it can easily be configured to down-translate from 3.3V inputs to 1.8V outputs (just set the supply pin to 1.8V; the inputs are over-voltage tolerant up to 6.5V).

There are devices that have smaller delays if that is the key parameter - for example, the SN74AUC2G34 has a delay of 2.4ns (max @ 30pF load), and will work the same (set supply to 1.8V, inputs are over-voltage tolerant to 4.1V)
  • Hi Emrys-san,

    Thank you for your support.

    Yes, we need automotive qualification.

It is best 2 channnels, but it is possible to use two 1 channel devices.

    I will check SN74LVC1T45-Q1 and SN74AVC2T45-Q1.

I think propagation delay depend on temperature, is TXS0102-Q1

Is TXS 0102 the same as well?

I am concerned whether delay will be random due to One-Shot Edge Accelerators function.

    Best regards,

    Tomoaki Yoshida

  • Hi Yoshida-san,

The best Q100 qualified device I found was SN74LVC2G125-Q1.

This device has a maximum tpd of 9.1 ns at 1.8 V supply, and will support over-voltage inputs up to 6.5 V.
