SN74AVC4T774: Footprint question

Part Number: SN74AVC4T774

Dear Team,

My customer met a problem when running DFM.

Because the pin 1 is more longer than another pins on the spec, the pins are too close to each other.

So they would like to know if they can use the same length as below figure for these pins or not?

Does BU have any concern?

Thank you.

  • In the footprint you have shown, pins 6/7/14/15 are longer than pins 5/8/13/16, but the example footprint in the datasheet has identical shapes. (And due to JPEG compressions artifacts, it is impossible to see the actual shape of pin 1.)

You certainly can use the footprint from the datasheet. However, it's just a suggested example; you'd have to ask your board fabricator if they can actually manufacture it (or check their specifications).

Anyway, the only purpose of the longer pin shape of pin 1 is to identify pin 1. You could simply shorten that one.
