TXS0108E: About absolute maximum rated

Hi,

Could you tell me about TXS0108E absolute maximum ratings?
The following contents are described in the data sheet page 4.
"Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability."

If the overshoot & undershoot exceeds the absolute maximum rating, is there an allowable time rule?
The following voltage was measured on the customer's board.
・Measured pin is B port (B1,B3,B5,B7)
・Measured Voltage:-0.7V(10ns)

Could you give me you advice?

    There is not a time limit, but there is a current limit. Typically overshoot/undershoot will not violate this spec - violations usually occur because a line is forced to a negative voltage.

    If the current value rating is observed, it does not exceed - 0.5V.

    That is not correct, the voltage _can_ exceed -0.5V as long as the current limit is observed. This means that you could put -2V on the input, so long as the current is limited to less than the maximum rating.

    For example, if you drive a line at -1V, then the negative clamp diode will source as much current as the driver can sustain, and the diode will likely be damaged.

    Usually, overshoot is caused by reflections on the line and there isn't much power in those reflections.
