SN74LVC1G34: Is there a logic family with better power-down isolation?

Part Number: SN74LVC1G34
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUP1G34

I am looking at the SN74LVC1G34, which has Ioff.  The datasheet says the maximum leakage current into an output is 10 microamps when Vcc is at zero volts.  But I would like to find something an order of magnitude (or two) lower than that.  I need a 1-gate part, and everything will be at 3.3V when powered up.  Is there a logic family that has very low leakage current?

Edit:  It looks like SN74AUP is what I'm looking for.  Does that sound right?

  • Hi George,
Yes, the SN74AUP1G34 would be your best bet for a low power device. It depends on your operating voltage, however. If you need 5V, the only way to go is LVC1G. If you are looking for 0.8V to 3.6V operation, then the AUP1G device is the best way to go.

The typical leakage on this device is under 100nA.
