LSF0108: About Pull-up Resistor Sizing

Part Number: LSF0108
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G34,

Hi,

Could you tell me about pull-up resistor sizing?
The following contents are described in the data sheet on page13.

I got questions from customers about this content.

1.Could you tell me about the reason to recommend 15mA or less.
It is my forecast is correct, as described below?
”If the current is 15 mA or more, this device can not sink the current.
Then, the voltage of VoL rises.”

2.Could you tell me the background that describes information of 10mA and 3mA with table 4.

Best Regards,
Yusuke/Japan Disty

  • Hello Yusuke-san,

These are fairly common current ratings for standard drivers.  For example, FPGAs often can only sink 3mA, while buffers like the SN74LVC1G34 can sink over 15mA per channel.

If you would like to learn more about how the LSF0108 works, I would highly recommend this video series:
