SN74LVC1G125: Enable tied to GND

Part Number: SN74LVC1G125
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G34

Hi Team,

We are using SN74LVC1G125 and the O͞E pin is tied to GND with a 10k Ohms resistor to keep it ON always. Will there be any issue with this Connection. The reason for asking this is because of the below statement in datasheet.

Appreciate if you can confirm if we can proceed with O͞E tied to GND with 10k.

Regards

  • Hello Praveen,

If you are keeping the device enabled always, why not use the SN74LVC1G34, which doesn't have an OE pin?

"Will there be any issue with this Connection."

"Any issue" could cover a wide variety of problems at a system level. If you can show me how the SN74LVC1G125 is being used in your system (preferably a schematic or block diagram), then I might be able to comment on any issues that could arise from keeping the device enabled all the time.

From the SN74LVC1G125's point of view, there is no issue with connecting the input to GND directly or through a pull-down resistor.  Doing this essentially turns the SN74LVC1G125 into an SN74LVC1G34.
