TXB0106: About TXB series

Part Number: TXB0106

Hi, I am confused about the statement below.
Which is right 1 or 2 ?

Thank you in advance,
yukihiro.

community title : TXB0106: TXB0106 for SD-card???

The TXB0106 is primarily designed for push/pull signals; SD cards use open-collector signals. And it's likely that the TXB's drive strength is too low.

TXB (www.ti.com/.../SCEA043)
The TXB push-pull buffered type architecture does not require a DIR control signal to establish the direction of data flow.
This architecture is designed to exclusively be connected and interfaced with a push-pull CMOS driver and is capable of driving a capacitive or high impedance loads in applications such as Secure Digital (SD) or Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI).
The TXB010x devices are not intended for use in open-drain applications.

  • The TXB is suited for push pull interface is the confirmed statement which I would like to highlight here.

The SD card has SD CLK which is push pull signal, the SDIO can be implemented in push pull or open drain is what I have read, so TXB can be used here if it is push pull but recommend not to use if the implementation is open drain.

Please let me know where is the statement about SD cards use open collector signals.

SPI is push pull interface, so I do not have concerns on using the TXB for SPI interface.

Please let me know if anything else.

  • Hi Shreyas, thank you for your reply.

    I understand.

    thank you,

    yukihiro.
