Linux/TXB0104: TXB0104

Part Number: TXB0104

Tool/software: Linux

Hey

I'm Using TXB0104 breakout in  my project i want to know does i have to program the chip or it will automatically do voltage level shifting ?

i want 5 v to be converted in 3.3 v.

please suggest the proper connection circuit for the chip and if programming is necessary please suggest the help.

thanks in advance

  • Hi Nagesh,
The TXB0104 is an analog IC. There is no internal processor or memory, and it will work as described in the datasheet.

Page 20 of the datasheet shows an example application for the device.
  • Hey ,
    Thanks for replying.
I have a dragon board which has two Vcc output 1.8v and 5v. I am using TXB0104D ic for volatage translation. I have accelerometer having voltage range 2 to 3.5v . can i use TXB0104D ic for voltage translation, i am planning to use 1.8 v as VccA and Vccb=5v. Will my accelerometer get proper voltage to work?
will this IC shifts the voltage in range 2v to 3.5 v?
I tried to connect the system but it is not working please suggest proper method.
    thanks in advance
  • Hi Nagesh,
There are a lot of factors on whether this device will work in your application or not. The TXB is able to translate from 1.8V to 5V, however it can't, for example, drive an LED at the 5V output.

The TXB0104 has a relatively weak drive strength, so it may not work for anything that requires more than 20uA of output current. It also isn't the best choice for larger capacitive loads (> 70pF).

If you can provide a schematic showing your system, signals, and expected parasitics, I can try to be of further assistance.
