SN74LVC1G17: SN74LVC1G17 - Need IEC61000-4-2 Equivalent

Hello,

We have customer who needs a drop in replacement, or device similar in function to the SN74LVC1G17. The replacement device needs to adhere to the IEC61000-4-2 standard, and be capable of 8kV or higher ESD compliance.

I've gone thru many of the qual reports for this device's packaging options, but am not finding anything beyond our normal HBM, MM, and CDM ratings.

Would anyone have any insight as to whether we have this device with the IEC61000-4-2 rating?

Hi Gabe,
Unfortunately, no, we don't make logic with extended ESD ratings. We always recommend to use external ESD protection when connecting a logic device in a system where it might have direct interaction with a user (ie an external connector). The ESD protection included in the IC is intended for protecting the device during manufacturing only.
