TMS320C32 & XDS510 USB

Hello,

I am trying to emulate an older device, TMS320C32, using the XDS510-USB with an older version of the Code Composer Studio which is supposed to support the 'C3x family.

Document SPDU079 has an emulation connection diagram for the TMS320C3x scan paths, but there is a note that says if H3 is used instead of H1, the emulation header connections are different. I am using the H3 signal and have been unable to find any reference to the setup when H3 is indeed being used.

Can you provide any documentation/support on the correct emulation header connections?

Thanks,

Lj

  • Hi,

This is quite an old device. I've notified the design team to elaborate. They will post their feedback directly here.

  • Lj,

The TMS320C32 is over 20 years old.  There is no longer any support available for this device.  There is no documentation for it maintained on the TI website.

The old document that you reference refers to H1 and H3 which appear to be clock signals between the emulation pod and the TMS320C32x device.  However, I do not think these clocks are quite the same as the TCK used in the IEEE JTAG standard.  The XDS510 and later XDS emulators comply with IEEE JTAG standard.  The following E2E thread from last year asks similar questions without clear resolution.
