Open drain discrete buffer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC07A, SN74LVC1G07, SN74LVC1G17

Hello.

I’m looking for a very small package open drain discrete buffer.

4 in 4 out, 3.3V supply. Enable option.

Should I use a schmit trigger buffer for this type of application?

Please advise,

Gilad.

  • Gilad,
I think this question should be in the logic forum.

  • Hi Gilad,
We don't currently offer a device that is both Schmitt-trigger input and open-drain output.

Also, I don't know of a device with an OE pin as well as an open-drain output.

What people usually use for an open-drain multi-buffer is the hex open-drain buffer SN74LVC07A. The I/O pins are rated from 1.65V to 5.5V. It is available in a 3.5mm x 3.5mm package.

For a very small single open-drain buffer, I would recommend looking at SN74LVC1G07, which is available in a 0.8mm x 0.8mm package (DPW). You could even couple that up with a Schmitt-trigger buffer, SN74LVC1G17, also available in DPW, and have a pretty small total solution size for 4 channels -- the multiple packages also allow for some flexibility in placement that the larger device above doesn't offer.
