SN74AVC4T245: What is the failure mode of SN74AVC4T245?

Part Number: SN74AVC4T245

Hi,

What is the failure mode of SN74AVC4T245?

We want to choose SN74AVC4T245, and need this IC's failure mode report. Can you support it to us? Such as what EOS problem brings.

Thank you!

  • Hi He Mingkun,

    Thank you for the query.
If you go to the product folder page of SN74AVC4T245 and into the quality and packaging tab, you will find the link to the FIT/ MTBF/DPPM results for the device.
I have the link here for the popular PWR package here below:
    www.ti.com/.../estimator.tsp

We only provide, however, the FMEA(Failure mode effects and analysis) report for TI -safety certified devices.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
  • Hi Shreyas,

    Thanks for your reply.

I found that SN74AVC4T245 doesn't have FMEA report.

Does it mean, if this device was damaged by EOS, such as over voltage, it would cause smoke or fire even explosion?

  • Mingkun,

An EOS event could cause the device to suffer localized thermal damage, but explosion or fire is unlikely to happen.

Having good ESD protection while handling components through external protection devices will go a long way in mitigating the risks of having EOS event.
