SNJ54LS90J

Hello,

Iam using SNJ54LS90J decade binary counter to generate 250kHz & 500kHz output.

Below is the configuration which i had used to get the 200kHz output at pin 11, but iam facing issue to get 250kHz,500kHz output's.

I had tried to give 1MHz square wave output to the pin14(CLKA) to get 500kHz output at pin-12 , but not succeeded.

Could you please give suggestions and how can i get 250kHz &500kHz output from this part with 1MHz input clock.

Regards.

RVP

  • Hi RVP,
It's a bit hard to make out your schematic, but I think I get the idea.

    You're inputting a 1 MHz (square wave?) (5V?) into CKB (pin 1) of the SNJ54LS90J. All configuration pins (2, 3, 6, 7, 10) are grounded (mode: COUNT).

I don't see what is being done with the CKA input (pin 14). Is that being used for something else?

Can you provide scope shots of the input at CKB (pin 1), the output at QB (pin 9), Vcc, and GND (preferably together on one scope shot)?
  • Hello,

We had not connected any clock to the CLKA input(pin 14) and pin 9 is not connected.
Can we generate 500kHz output at pin-12(QA), if we connect 1MHz input to CLKA (pin14) with pins(2,3,6,7,10) grounded and CLKB(pin1) open.

If not what will the configuration to be used to generate 500kHz&250kHz with 1MHz input.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • Hi Varaprasad,
I understand that pin 9 is not connected, but if you can provide me with scope shots of the pins I described, I can understand better why you are having troubles.
  • Hi Varaprasad,
I'm going to mark this thread as 'closed' -- if you can get me additional information, please post it here and I will see it immediately, but until then, I cannot be of further assistance.

I hope you found a solution to your issue!
