I have a customer interested in combining the six inverter channels as a gate driver for a MOSFET.

This should be feasible so long as the inputs are tied together, correct?

How much continuous current can be safely drawn through VCC or GND in this configuration?

Hi Gregory,

Yes, the channels can be tied together in parallel so long as the inputs are the same.

The datasheet lists the maximum current the device can handle in the absolute maximum ratings table:

Emrys...items are spec'd for continuous current for the outputs and through VCC or GND.

Do you have any insight in terms of peak output current? What about peak current through VCC or GND the device?

This current would only flow for a short period of time.

Hi Gregory,
The value on the datasheet is the absolute maximum - meaning that you cannot violate it, even for a femtosecond. Actually, you can violate it as much as you like, however TI will not guarantee operation or reliability once the abs max values start being violated.
