TXB0108: Powered from 3.3V, pull-up to 5V ?

Hello,

For a new design we need to feed one 5V output logic level into the B side of the TXB0108 which is powered from 3.3V.

From the datasheet it looks like the TXB0108 will not be tolerant to a 5V input?

Could you please verify?

    Hi Keith,
    The recommended maximum on any input is the supply value for that 'side' of the device -- in this case, you shouldn't exceed 3.3V on the A side.

    Additionally, you shouldn't use pull-up or pull-down resistors with the TXB family of translators -- these devices have 4k series resistors on their outputs, and pull-up/pull-down resistors will cause serious problems.

    Edit - nevermind, I see now it's not 5V, but 1.8V on the other side.
