Dear Sir,

We are using the level translator SN74LVC8T245, to translate signals from 3.3V to 5V. level.

We have faced problem in 2 IC's. when for I/p is 3.3V O/p is 5V but when i/p becomes zero(0V), o/p stays at 2.4V and it is not becoming Zero,

Actually IC's mis-behaving kindly tell us why this failure.

Girish,

when you mention that the I/P is 0v, is it connected to gnd or left floating? what is the status of the OE / Vcca pins?
I know that you have mentioned this as SN74LVC8T245, but wondering if this is SN74LVCH8T245 device with bus hold feature?

Dear Shreyas,

It is SN74LVC8T245 only. And I/p is not floating.

OE is Grounded,

VCCA, DIR = 3.3V

VCCB = 5V

Kindly check is there any batch issue

Hi Girish,

Please send all the scopeshots of the inputs and outputs , Vcca ,Vccb, control signals along with a detailed schematic of the device with the interconnections, if possible.

The schematic doesnt tell us much about the interconnections. Is there a scopeshot or the issues you are facing?

We do not have any returns on the sn74LVC8T245 in the recent past.

Girish,

If you believe that there is an issue with a particular lot, you could contact your local TI sales and CQE for initiating a return. I can say that the device manufacturing didnt find any abnormality with good yields.

Also, we have not received any returns in the recent past on this device.
