SN74AVC16T245: Port A/B Capacitance

Part Number: SN74AVC16T245

What would Cio be for the SN74AVC16T245 if Vcca or Vccb are 1.8V?

Thanks for your help with this!

Richard Elmquist

  • Hey Richard,
We don't have data on Cio at 1.8V, however you can expect the capacitance to change inversely to Vcc (due to the relationship for the depletion capacitances at the output) -- in this case, since Vcc is being cut in half (approximately) from the datasheet measurement of Vio, then I would expect Cio to double (approximately) to 14pF.

In reality, it probably won't double -- there's also some input capacitance included there (probably about 3.5pF) that won't change (since the gate geometry doesn't change), and thus the true value is likely closer to 10.5pF.

Since this value is just an average anyways (output capacitance is a nonlinear function of several variables), that's probably closer than we could get even trying to measure it.
