SN74LVC1G14: SN74LVC1G14

Part Number: SN74LVC1G14

His is probably a dumb question, but I'm looking for someone smarter than me.  If I need to calculate the output current requirement of a voltage regulator driving say ten Buffers, what spec does one use to calculate that number?  If a buffer is capable of sinking / sourcing +/-24 mA.  But the quiescent current is only 10 uA,  what is the power supply current requirement?  10uA?

  • Hi Randy,
What are you driving with your ten buffers?

The power supply has to source all of the current that will be going into all of the loads, so if you have ten individual buffers, each driving 24mA together, your total current requirement is 10 * (24mA + 10uA) ~= 240mA.
