SN74LVC8T245: Will the device work if powered up with DIR pulled to VCCA and OE pulled to GND?

Question:  Will the part work if I power it up under the following conditions –

                DIR Pin: Pulled up to VCCa

                /OE Pin: Pulled low to GND

The spec says that it should be started with both /OE and DIR pulled-up to VCC, but I cannot spare an IO pin to control DIR or /OE, so I want to hard program them into the desired operating state (data flow from BusA to BusB).
