SN74LVC244A: Buffer recommendation

Part Number: SN74LVC244A

Hi,

  • I use the non-inverting buffer SN74LVC244A, with feature below: when OE pin is disabled, the output is High impedance state.
  • Now my need is to find a non-inverting buffer whose output is low level, while not  High impedance state. I have no results from TI.com, could you give me some recommendations if it existed?

thanks.

  • Hi Yang,

I'm trying to grasp the functionality you want here. Any buffer can have a low output (just have a low input), but do you wan't the device to only be able to drive low? This would be an open drain device if so. The output can drive low but when it is high it is in high impedance.
  • Hi Dylan,

Thanks for your answer. but I think I didn't clearly describe the issue.  the function table of SN74LVC244A is shown below:

while my customer wants to find an IC with specific feature below (the other features are the same with SN74LVC244A or almost the same)

I hope you understand. thank you and have a nice day.

  • Hi Yang,

I see, thanks for the clarification. So the whole point of the OE pin is to enable/disable the outputs. This means it will be in a high-impedance state or an active state (which the level will be determined by the input). If you want to disable the device outputs and have a Low signal on the output, I'd recommend using a pull-down resistor.
  • Hi Dylan,

yes, this is this problem, the customer doesn't want to use the pull-down resistor....
OK, I see. I will tell him there has no alternative for this issue, pull-down resistor is the only choice.

    I really appreciate your help.

    Yang
