TXB0108: Does TXB0108 have any diode for ESD protection at An, Bn and OE terminals?

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TXB0108 for their next products.

They have the following questions about TXB0108. Could you please give me your answers or comments?

Q1. Is there any ESD protection diode (parasitic diode included) from GND to A1~A8, B1~B8 and OE terminals?

Q2. Is there any ESD protection diode (parasitic diode included) from A1~A8 to VCCA, from B1~B8 to VCCB and from OE to VCCA terminals?

Q3, If the answer for Q2 is yes, is the diode still active when OE=GND? It seems that the diode is not active when OE=L because VI and VO absolute maximum rating is described as 6.5V and it does not depend on VCCA and VCCB voltage.

Kazuya san,

Yes, the TXB0108 has internal ESD protection diode on each of its device pins to gnd.
The control inputs are overvoltage tolerant and hence do not have ESD to Vcc.
The IO ports have ESD to Vcc and should not be over driven above the Vcc level.
only when the OE is disabled by tying it low, the IO ports can have voltages above Vccx level.

Kazuya san,

Yes, the datasheet abs max table indicates that in the Hi-Z state, the A/B ports can have voltages above Vcc.
