SN74AVC2T45: VCCA/VCCB Power Sequencing

Part Number: SN74AVC2T45
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AXC1T45

Hello,

The SN74AVC2T45 features Ioff partial power down isolation.    Section 8.3.1 implies that either VCCA or VCCB can be a ground, which is typical of parts featuring Ioff.

Section 10 of the datasheet would seem to contradict this (snippet below).   My suspicion is that section 10 is boiler plate text that doesn't apply to this device.   Would someone please confirm if section 10 applies to the SN74AVC2T45?

Many Thanks.

Don

  • Hi Don,

The Ioff is guaranteed when either of the supply is at 0V or gnd to ensure that the IO ports can be powered on without any backcurrent powering up the device by accident.
the power supply recommendations suggestions is during the ramp up or ramp down of the supplies( and hence they are not at 0V to guarantee Ioff).
The power supply recommendations need to be understood as not a requirement but a general guideline. The device performance or reliability is not affected when the PSR is not followed. the system level performance need to be the priority.
What is the application being used in?
Would you consider using the recently released SN74AXC1T45 ?
