Hi,

I am planning to use SN74AVC4T245 for 3.3V->1.2V translation and vice versa. The buffer describes as being optimized for 1.4V to 3.6V. Can somebody from TI elaborate on this optimization and if there is any limitation on operation for translation to 1.2V?

    Hi Chetan,

    The optimization here means that the 1.2V being the lowest operating voltage, the drive strength will be low and hence related tpd measurement can be large. It can definitely support the down translation from 3.3 to 1.2V. Would you consider the SN74AXC8T245 which supports the 3.3 down to 1.2V without issues and can go down all the way to 0.65V. 

    Please let me know.
