It was not clear from the datasheet whether the data and control inputs can handle 5V inputs when VCC is 3.3V without damaging the part. The absolute maximum ratings includes a Note 1 that says: "the input and output voltage ratings may be exceeded if the input and output current ratings are observed". Which input/output current ratings does this refer to? Note that I am interested specifically in the space-grade version of this part, since our application is for space.
