SN74LVC1G125: Regarding overvoltage condition of output in tri-state for SN74LVC1G125.

Part Number: SN74LVC1G125

Hi TI Support,

We intend to use SN74LVC1G125 & similar buffers in one of our application. I will appreciate answers to some queries related to 3-state output of SN74LVC1G125,

1. What will happen when output voltage (Vo) goes higher than VCC when buffer is in tri-state?

2. Are there any internal clamp diodes which can get forward biased if Vo goes higher than VCC even in tri-state?

3. If answer to point-2 is yes, then we would like to max clamp current for case when Vo> VCC.

4. Can we increase tolerance of Vo to higher voltages by inserting series resistor such that resultant current is lesser than output clamp current?

Thanks,

jagdish
