TXS0108E: It´s necessary use an external serial resistors in TX and RX lines (isolation resistor), or it´s included in the IC?

Hi,

I´m looking for information about the use of external serial resistors in both lines (RX and TX), but I don´t know if it necessary the use of them or the IC included internally. In different forums I read that´s the serial resistor (10-20 Ohms typically), are using to protect the lines of TX and RX for little currents.

Hi Alberto and welcome to the forums!

A 10 to 20 ohm resistor is typically added to the output of a strong CMOS driver to reduce ringing on long lines. There's an application report that explains this located here: Bus-Interface Devices With Output-Damping Resistors or Reduced-Drive Outputs

The TXS0108E does not include output-damping resistors.
