CD4504B: can i do like this?

Part Number: CD4504B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CD40109B

Dear friend

I want to convert mcu output  signal (3.3V)  to  COMS 15V signal  , can I  use this ic directly?     or must need I  do   3.3V ----> 5V -------->15V   ?

thanks !

  • Hi Zhang, and welcome to the forums!

The CD4k family in general operates from 3V to 18V. The CD4504B doesn't specifically guarantee any type of performance specs at 3V. This is partially because the device was intended as a 5V translator -- converting TTL or 5V CMOS signals to higher voltages.

If you aren't concerned with TTL vs 5V CMOS signals, I would instead recommend the CD40109B, quad low-to-high voltage level shifter. This device is intended for general purpose up-translation in the 3 to 18V range.
  • I got it,  thanks
