SN74LVCC4245A: over shoot / under shoot provision

Part Number: SN74LVCC4245A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC8T245,
I would like know Undershoot / overshoot provision of 【SN74LVCC4245APWR】

On the board currently being evaluated, at the input terminal to 【SN74LVCC4245APWR】
-0.6 V exceeding the maximum rating -0.5 V is instantaneously applied (3 to 4 ns).
Please refer to the information for good reference.
  • Welcome to e2e.

I couldn't fully understand the issue here.
I would consider using the SN74LVC8T245 which are P2P to the sn74LVCC4245A device and the dual supply is fully configurable from 1.65 to 5.5V.
The inputs are also over-voltage tolerant on the SN74LVC8T245.
    Please let me know.

    thank you for your answer.
Current status can not be changed from 【sn74LVCC4245A】 to 【SN74LVC8T245 】.

I want to know the undershoot provision in order to solve it without changing it.
  • As the abs max table suggests, the undershoot on the IO ports and control inputs should not drop below -0.5V and overshoot should not exceed Vcc+0.5V. The easiest way to limit the O/S and U/S is to have a series limiting resistor usually about 25- 50 ohms. It forms a low pass filter to limit the rising edge / falling edges.
