SN74LVC1G123: maximum duration time

Part Number: SN74LVC1G123

Hello Experts,

I would like to know how to decide "K" value when it is case which is not a range in datasheet. I would like to design 30s duration by SN74LVC1G123. The datasheet stated max 0.2s. (R=200Kohm, C=1uF at VCC=5V, Figure 13.) From this, I think K=5, but my goal is 30s. I do not know this device is designed for duration time is 30s. Could I get your answer?

Best Regards,
Fujiwara

  • Sorry, I did a miss calculation. K is "1" from Figure 13 in datasheet. The question is whether SN74LVC1G123 can design 30s output pulse duration. Is it possible?

    Best Regards,
    Fujiwara
  • Hi Fujiwara,

I've seen others operate this device with ~30 s pulses. However, the size of capacitor needed to create that pulse will be fairly large. This will mean that the device will have to discharge a lot of stored charge which could stress the part. This is something to keep in mind. I'd also highly recommend getting samples of the device and testing it on a board to get a more accurate pulse duration on top of the doing calculations.
