Hi team,

My customer also want to know if the skew of the SN74AVC8T245 can support the RGMII application. Where can I find the related answer.

The data rate is about 125Mbps.

We have saw the skew is less than 1ns, and for COMS device is less than 250ps for the skew.

Also, the another concern is the raise time and falling time.

Can you help on that?

Hi Lacey,

You can consider using the SN74AXC8T245 and can refer to the app note below:
www.ti.com/.../scea065.pdf

This has a typical skew performance of the AXC of about 100-200ps.

I have also recommend the SN74AXC8T245.
But customer still want to know the skew, and they need to evaluate the application for the SN74AVC16T245 that can support.
So may need your help to know this.

Hi Lacey,

what is the package of the AVC16T245 being considered?
I would recommend using the AXC8T245 which has the skew measured in the app note.
Also, in the post, you mentioned 125Mbps or should it be 125Mhz? The RGMII spec requires skew of 500ps i believe, so the AVC or the AXC would be able to support the RGMII spec.
