TXS0206A: Difference TXS0206A VS TXS0206 and recommendation

Part Number: TXS0206A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0206,

Dear *,

1) please can you tell us the difference between TXS0206A and TXS0206

2) which solution is better regarding EMI and ESD

a) TXS0206

b) TXS0206A + 2x TPD4E1U06DCKR

3) we see that the TXS0206 and TXS0206A has internal pull-up (40k) on all the DATA lines and CMD line

in some designs we saw that also CLK line has pull-up is it necessary to add external 40k pull-up on CLK line?

4)  in order to use electrical card detect function on DAT3 line , it is suggested to use 270k pull-down on the line.

Do we have to add the 270k pull-down resistor on DAT3A and DAT3B side of the  TXS0206 or TXS0206A?

5) Also the card has internal 50k pull-up  on DAT3 which should be disconnected during regular data transmission with SET_CLR_CARD_DETECT command ACMD42

The  TXS0206 or TXS0206A has pull-up on DAT3 line, is this ok ? Because when disconnect internal pull-up on DAT3 , there will be an pull-up in the  TXS0206 or TXS0206A.

Best Regards,

David.

  • Hi David,
I have asked our translation expert to get back with you. You should expect a response by the end of business on Monday (Dallas time).
  • David,

I would recommend using the TXS0206A device.
Both device have internal pullup and pulldown resistors and hence I would not recommend having external pullups or pulldowns on the line.
The SD memory card internal pullup of 50kohm may still be fine, but if allowed, I would recommend disconnecting it.
Read the app note of the effects of external pullups and pulldowns here(applies to TXS0206 devices as well) :
