    Hi Philip,

    The AVC2T245 has 2 DIR control signals to control each of the 2 IO channels.
    This may be suitable for using it in 2 channel UART interface.
    whereas, the SN74AVC2T45 has 1 DIR control for its 2 IO channels. So, it can be configured for 2x A-> B or 2x B->A directions.
