TXS0108E: Difference in TXS series

Part Number: TXS0108E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0104E, TXS0101, TXS0102

Hello E2E Team,

My customer has question as below. Could you please answer? Thank you in advance.

According to the Apps note SCEA044(A Guide to Voltage Translation With TXS-Type Translators),

from TXS0101, TXS0102 and TXS0104E called 'initial series', TXS0108E has different architecture called 'second series'.

In perspective application, what is the different architecture for?

Is there speciif use case TXS0108E can support or cannot support comparing to 'initial series'?

  • Hi Kenneth,

The TXS0108e has a different architecture where input low to high pulse will have stronger pullup resistor and during the high to low pulse will have lighter resistor. This helps in supporting higher data rates up to 100Mbps as listed in the datasheet.
Let me know what is the consideration for the customer?
  • Hello Shreyas,

Thank you for your prompt answer. The question was just on behalf of the customer.
It seems the customer has interest on 8ch device rather than multiple fewer channel devices.
