Hi Ti Experts,
We are using SN74HC02 in a project, and we purchased the IC from a local distributor. Below is a picture of the IC we got. Would you please advise if there is any difference between both ICs in terms of electrical characteristics? The reason I am asking it is simply because we noticed that our circuit operates as expected when using HC0239KG4CHL2, while it fails to work when it is replaced with HC0265KG4A5C2. In fact we built 60 sets of prototype boards using HC0265KG4A5C2 and all of them were not operative. But the problem was resolved once the defected parts were replaced with HC0239KG4CHL2. As far as I know, the suffix showing in silk screen of the IC conveys info about product's date code and its manufacturing location etc. Both IC should be identical in terms of functionality and electrical characteristics. Is that correct? Thank very much. I looking forward to your response soon. Peter
Is that local distributor an authorized TI distributor?
If the chip is counterfeit, then the marking is simply copied from a good device, and will not tell you anything.
