SN74LVC1G17: The Highest Frequency for Signal Conditioning & Level Shift

Part Number: SN74LVC1G17
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G79

The datasheet for SN74LVC1G17 said at 3.3V voltage, the highest speed application up to 100M.

Question: When supply voltage is 1.8V,  what are the highest frequency for signal conditioning and level shift?   the frequency for signal conditioning and level shift the same or different?

  • Hi Xing,

The maximum speed of most logic gates isn't specified - ie we don't guarantee a maximum operating frequency.

There's a plot in the applications section of this datasheet that shows 1.8-V operation up to 75 MHz (via power consumption graph), however it does not show signal integrity or load conditions for that test.

We recommend using a similar device (same logic family) that _does_ have a specified clock frequency to estimate the maximum operating frequency of a single logic gate.  For this device, the SN74LVC1G79 is a good comparison, with a maximum rated clock frequency of 160 MHz at 1.8V.
