SN74LV4T125: Absolute Maximum Ratings defines Vo –0.5V to 4.6V

Part Number: SN74LV4T125

Hello Team,

The datasheet 7.1 Absolute Maximum Ratings defines Vo,
Voltage range applied to any output in the high-impedance or power-off state(2) –0.5V to 4.6V

Is there a problem if the circuit at the next stage is PullUp to 5V ?
And, please let me know the reason why datasheet defines as 4.6V

Best Regards,
Kunio Arai

  • That value is obviously wrong.

Anyway, the Absolute Maximum Ratings table only prevents permanent damage to the device; if you want it to actually work correctly, you have to stay inside the values in the Recommended Operation Conditions table (7.3). That one allows you to go up to Vcc, so this is fine (as long as the SN74LV4T125's Vcc is 5 V).
