Buffer to isolate MDIO

Hello

CPU have MDIO interface. While live insertion another extension board for MDIO connection, CPU MDIO line will be hang up by extension board. Has any buffer to solve this hang up issue while extension board insertion? Thank you.

You could use a 2-channel 1:1 switch with powered off protection to help isolate the signal path. What do you think about the SN74CB3Q3306A?

Patrick,

TXS0102 guarantees Ioff partial power down mode.

With this, the IO ports are guaranteed to be in hi-Z mode when either one of the supply is at 0V. The IO ports can have active signals without accidently turning on the supply through the internal leakage paths.
