SO# 494281
Hello, our customer is concerned about the state of the contacts of delivered parts with P/N: SN74HC273N, assuming rust, or oxidation.
We told the customer that this should be ok, with hint to the PCN: 20120223003A "Add Cu as Alternative Bond Wire Metal for selected devices".
But the customer would not accept this. Therefore I hope you can confirm that these parts should be ok, by attaching pictures of these parts, or you can advise differently?
The pictures show the same part-number, but with different appearance:
Can you please advise?
THank you very much.
Best regards
Adnan
Hello Adnan,
Please provide them this FAQ:
[FAQ] Why do the leadframes look strongly oxidized or corroded?
Thanks!
-Karan
Hello Karan,
many tanks for the hint to the FAQ!
Our customer came back, telling us that they don't solder the parts, but plug tem into sockets...
Regarding the material change I can't see any problems with that, but maybe you can advise on that type of mounting with these hardened leadframes? Can the customer expect any potential issues using these leadframes in conjunction with sockets?
Thank you very much.
Best regards
Adnan
Hi Adnan,
We have not seen any problems with the roughened lead frames being used in sockets. They have had no impact on the specs of the device as it will still behave within the datasheet parameters.
Thanks!
-Karan
