SN74LVC2G74-Q1: Problem with Q' turning OFF

Part Number: SN74LVC2G74-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74HCS74-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer is using the SN74LVC2G74-Q1 and is noticing some strange behavior where Q' is turning OFF without a good reason. We're having trouble wrapping our heads around what could be causing this. Can you help us understand what might be going on or perhaps suggest an alternative device that's easier to manage?

Here are some scope shots to illustrate the behavior:

Thanks,
Mitchell

  • Hi Mitchell,

Can you provide zoomed in scope shots of the input to your D pin? It maybe possible that the line is really noisy and quickly goes low and you are not seeing it being so far zoomed out. If that is whats happening, quick solution would be to place a schmitt trigger buffer at the input of the D pin or use the SN74HCS74-Q1 (schmitt-trigger inputs) that we just released to solve this problem.

    Thanks!
