CD4504B: how to prevent output wrong pulse when pin1 has power and pin16 has no power?

Part Number: CD4504B

Hi,

in customer test, Pin16 has no power, when pin1 voltage goes up and input voltage is 0V, the output can see a voltage pulse.

customer want to know how to remove this wrong voltage pulse?

thanks.

  • hi Max,

The CD4K device doesnt guarantee Ioff or Vcc isolation; where the IO ports are in HiZ when either of the power supplies is at 0V( not floating).

Refer to the FAQ on Vcc isolation here below:

also, refer to the FAQ on power sequencing recommendations. The device itself is not affected by the any power sequencing of Vcca/Vccb however, care must be taken to ensure that the system level performance is not affected. You could try IO ports with weak pulldown resistors to see if the glitch disappears.
