SN54ACT244-SP: Questions

Part Number: SN54ACT244-SP

Hi Team,

My customer is looking at using the SN54ACT244-SP in a space-related design, but has a couple questions.

  1. Is this component a purely CMOS device?
  2. What is the maximum toggling rate this device will support?
  3. Have there been any SEE/Heavy Ion tests done on this component? If so, can you provide any data around this testing?

Thanks,
Mitchell

  • Hi,

The applications engineer supporting this device is out of the office until Monday.  I will attempt to find another resourse to support your inquiry but responses could be delayed.

    Thanks

  • Hi Christian,

No problem, next week is fine. Thanks for the help!

    Best,
    Mitchell

  • Mitchell,

    1. Is this component a purely CMOS device?    Yes.  See this logic comparison guide:
      www.ti.com/lit/sg/sdyu001ab/sdyu001ab.pdf
    2. What is the maximum toggling rate this device will support?  This FAQ can be referenced for max rate. Here is parametric search of potential clocked D type flip flops in ACT family.     This lists 90Mhz.  However, this is a combined logic DataSheet (DS).  Referring to the DS, this shows minimum Fmax of 70Mhz across the mil temp range.  This would be suitable estimate for Fmax for this device.
    3. Have there been any SEE/Heavy Ion tests done on this component? If so, can you provide any data around this testing?  We do not have SEE/Heavy ion data on this device.  There may be third party data available.   The database that I have does not show any external reports exist.  However, it is not necessarily complete.
