TXS0108E-Q1: Datasheet values

Part Number: TXS0108E-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0108E

Hi Team,

With TXS0108E-Q1 customer is facing problem in logic compatibility. Controller VOH min= 2.8V, Vol max= 0.4V, Vih min= 2.64V & Vil max= 1.65V

But this device  VOH min is (as per datasheet) 0.67*3.3= 2.211V, this creates problem while driving level translator to MCU .

Please confirm the above part values VOH,VOL, VIH,VIL are correct, it is differ from other parts datasheet values, please check on highlighted datasheet values.

  • Hi Shinu,

The datasheet value is correct. The TXS device has internal pull ups that cause the VOH to be so bad. However this is listed as the VOH(min) not typical thus guaranteeing that it will never be lower than this. This is because this is the absolute worst case. The device should will most likely have an output of around .9*Vcc.

Here is an appnote http://www.ti.com/lit/an/scea054a/scea054a.pdf discussing the TXS device. You can see when VCCb is at 3.3V Vcc, the output is around 3.1V.

I would recommend you test this device to confirm its operation.

    Thanks!
