SN74LVC07A: Application Problem

Part Number: SN74LVC07A

Hello,

Since we found the failure on the SN74LVC07A on UPS application,

Could you kindly help to comment!

1. Please help to check if the schematic is ok or not as enclosure?

2. The input signal of the buffer is from DSP GPIO 3.3V. Do we need to add additional resistor on the signal line in series to limit the current?

3.  On the schematic and current calculation, can you check if it is possible to over SPEC?

application: Level Shifter for 5V LCM interface. (3.3V to 5V)

Failure senario: We found some defective units in these two year. =>The input buffer became low impedance

Regards,

Brian

  • Hey Brian,

    1. I don't see any issues with the schematic that was drawn.

    2. Our device input is high impedance so no additional resistor is required.

    3. I don't see anything going over spec.

Depending on how much "some" is, it's possible that the device encountered ESD damage. That EOS can cause a short to GND.
